Sorting out your spells
Now we're ready to sort out our initial spells. Already setup on your action bars should be two spells. Wrath, which is your first damage spell and Healing Touch, which is your first healing spell. You also have a spell that's unique to the Tauren class. Hit the P key to bring up your spellbook and on the first page you will see War Stomp. Drag this to your action bar.
War Stomp is an Area Of Effect stun spell and will stun up to five enemies close to you for two seconds. This is a great spell to have if you get in to trouble and need to make a run for it. When you stun an enemy it takes them out of the fight for a short period of time, leaving you time to heal or get the hell out of there.
Now setup your actions bars so that you have those three spells, your drink and your Hearthstone all available for clicking. Drink allows you to replenish mana while out of combat and your Hearthstone allows you to return to your home village or city from anywhere in the world. You can see how I have mine setup below.
Getting some quests
Now you need to get something to do. You will probably spend a lot of time in World Of Warcraft questing. Quests are tasks given out to you by NPCs that will earn you experience points (XP) and help you to advance through the levels. NPCs with available quests for you have a big yellow exclamation mark above their heads. NPCs with gray exclamation marks have quests that you will be able to get from them within the next couple of levels.
It's always handy to make a note of NPCs that have gray exclamation marks so that you know where to return to later on to get more quests. From the screenshot below you will see that Grull Hawkwind has a quest for us and behind him in the distance there is another NPC with a quest for you.
Start by picking up both these quests by talking to the NPCs. You will have one quest to collect seven each of Plainstrider Meat and Plainstrider Feathers and one quest to talk to Chief Hawkwinds mother. At any time you can bring up your quest list by hitting the L key. While viewing your quest list if you hold down the Shift key and click a quest name you can bring up a handy list of objectives on your screen. Do that with the The Hunt Begins quest.
